Bahareque Ceren: A construction technique to create sustainable architecture
The joint Master Classes of the Building Sense Now initiative and MISEREOR offer access to country-specific building knowledge in line with climate-friendly and culturally sensitive practice by and for architects and civil engineers worldwide. In this ninth master class Wilfredo Carazas Aedo, Architect at Research Unit Architecture, Environment & Constructive Cultures – CRATerre (International Centre on Earthen Architecture) shares his expertise. The master class focuses on an ancestral construction technique from El Salvador – Bahareque Ceren – which is useful and relevant today to create modern and sustainable buildings.
